Find Your Assets

You have two options for viewing your current yard assets.

  1. Map
  2. Inventory

Map

Visit the map view

The map will display your assets

Drivers

If you have driver permission, you will have the ability to find a specific asset using the search bar.

Operations

Users with the operations or management permissions will be able to view all assets, filter and search.

Work Management

If you are taking advantage of the Yard Spot work management features you can find assets on the map and create a new work ticket directly from this view.

Markers

Assets on the map are represented a couple of different ways

Trailers

Trailer assets are marked in blue trailer

Containers

Container assets start out as green container and will transition to red container aging as it is resident in the yard for multiple days as a way to visually monitor free days.

Container markers will fade from the map if they have not been identified over the course of several days. This feature is especially helpful for open yards.

Easy Configuration

We can easily configure your average free days and loiter time so container icons work best for your operations.

Asset Details

Selecting an asset will open the details in the sidebar. From here you can access several key features

  • Reposition the asset
  • Create a work ticket
  • Remove the asset from inventory
  • Change loaded/empty status
  • View the time machine

Reposition

This will allow you to move the map marker to the new position of the asset on the map.

Create Ticket

You can create a work ticket on this asset.

Remove Asset

You can remove the asset from the yard inventory.

Note this doesn't delete the asset data from the Yard Spot database, it just takes it out of your yard inventory.

Loaded/Empty

You can specify that the asset is loaded or empty. This streamlines your operation to keep track of the disposition of your asset's cargo.

Time Machine

Want to see everywhere your asset has been? From the History section, youc an see every position of the asset on the map over time. This is helpful to see how many times the asset has been traveled and potentially streamline your yard operations.
